Virginia "Ginny" Lee

Emily “Ginny” Virginia Lee, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and caregivers at her Spring Lake home Friday, March 7, 2025; she was 90 years old.

Born July 27, 1934 in Tampa, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Emilio and Donihue (nee Davis) De Vergara. Ginny attended and graduated from Hernando High School where she was a high school cheerleader and went on to nursing school.

Ginny married the love of her life, George Lee of Spring Lake. She raised a family of four as the anchor of a wondering Air Force family and played an instrumental part in her husband’s second career success in real estate. Ginny embodied an unconditional love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, Mark Lee; her daughter, Denise Lee; and was the best grandma in the world for her six grandkids and many great-grandchildren who all lovingly call her “Big Nanny.” She is preceded in death by her husband, George Lee.

A Visitation for family and friend will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at Merritt Funeral Home Brooksville (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601), where Funeral Services begin at 11:00am. A Graveside Service will follow at Spring Lake Cemetery (Ernest Lee Road, Brooksville, FL 34602).

Mom's smiles and support kept us safe as our little universe of four found our way together. She awaits us with Dad in Paradise.
