Weiland will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Carol, his son and daughter-in-law, George & Jennifer Rogers, daughters and sons-in-law, Kristin & Jerry Taylor and Lauren & Sid Carlo, his sister and brother-in-law, Alice & Bob Stonaker, and his grandchildren, Amelia, Parker, Preston, Elliot, and Trey.
Weiland was born in Brooksville, Florida, to George Adams and Wilhelmina Rogers. He was a graduate of Clearwater High School and earned degrees from Clemson University and the University of Florida. A proud Clemson Tiger, he carried his love for the team throughout his life. He began his career at First Federal Savings and Loan of Brooksville before moving on to Rogers’ Christmas House, a cherished Florida landmark.
An avid long-distance runner, Weiland competed in countless races, including the New York City Marathon, and he was a founding member of the Red Mule Runners Club in Brooksville. In 2002, he was honored as one of thirteen runners to complete the first 25 Gasparilla Distance Classics.
Weiland loved walking his Basset hounds and hosting lively gatherings filled with sports and laughter.
He cherished time on Pine Island, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and sharing his love for the water with his family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Brooksville Methodist Church (109 South Broad Street, Brooksville, FL 34601) on January 25, 2025 at 2:00pm.
