William "Bill" Caldwell

Born August 14, 1928 in Bush Glen, West Virginia, he came to the area 48 years ago from Tampa, Florida. He was a mechanic by trade, owned his own business and was a former member of the American Legion.  He was Protestant by faith.  

He is survived by his wife, Iris; sons and daughters-in-law: Paul & Gloria Caldwell of Kentucky and Michael & Marilyn Caldwell of Tennessee; daughters and sons-in-law: Tamara & Jim Gayle of Houston, Texas, Amy & Dale Baker of Land O’Lakes, Florida, Sara Schmier of Spokane, Washington and Marie Annette & Joseph Fitzwater of Charleston, West Virginia; brother and sister-in-law: James & Barbara Caldwell of Beckley, West Virginia; sister: Patsy Sauers of Wilmington, North Carolina; 18 grandchildren,  several great-grandchildren; and nephew: James Randall Jr.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00-4:00pm, Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, where Funeral Services begin at 4:00pm.  Interment will take place at 1:00pm, Monday, November 4, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery, with military honors.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Humane Society.
