
BURRIS, William Monroe, age 82 of Brooksville, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Brooksville Health Care Center. Born in Russellville, Arkansas, he came here 39 years ago from Bartow, Florida. He was retired owner/operator of Burris Printing in Brooksville, was a retired minister, pastoring at Istachatta Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church and was assistant pastor of Eden Baptist Church all in Brooksville. He also worked in plumbing and enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of Anchor Baptist Church of Brooksville. Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Georgia “Irene” Burris; daughter: Mona Fisher of Brooksville, Florida; brothers: Carl Burris of Louisiana, Dan Burris of Oklahoma and Larry & Don Burris both of Fort Smith, Arkansas; sister: Margaret of Tipton, Texas. He was preceded in death by his son, Cecil Burris. Visitation for friends will be 10:30-11:00am, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Brooksville where funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Pastor Edward Gandy officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.
