William F. Hardy, Jr.

HARDY JR., William F., age 60 of New Castle, PA passed away the morning of November 10, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family and went from their loving arms straight to God’s. He was born May 8, 1951 in New Castle, and was the son of William F., Sr. and Sarah Curry Hardy.  His parents both survive. He is survived by his wife, the former M. Christy Anderson whom he married on July 4, 1980. Mr. Hardy was a 1969 graduate of Mohawk High School where he excelled at track and field and football.  He had worked as a millwright for V and M Star. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. William was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer and a member of the NRA. He was also a member of the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and a member of the Care Committee at V and M Star. William was Protestant.  In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by a son: Bryan Carmichael and wife Melissa of Spring Hill, FL;  a daughter:  Heather Pellicer and  fiancee,  Keith Pierce of New Castle; PA;  two brothers: Jeff Hardy and Larry Hardy, Sr., both of New Castle;  six sisters: Cheryl Trammel, Frances Rogers, Earla Hardy, Mary Beth Wels and Marsha Park,  all of New Castle and Sue Ann Izzo of Cleveland, OH; two grandchildren: Brenden and Bryanna and is also survived by nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Visitation for friends will be 10:00am-Noon, Friday, November 18, 2011 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 1:00pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
