
Albert Ceborn Andrews, 93, WWII veteran and southeast Georgia native died in his home suddenly on March 17th, 2013. He was born in Baxley, Georgia on December 31st, 1919 and grew up in Blackshear and Brunswick. He served in the army as a young man and promptly re-enlisted in the navy when America joined WWII. He served on ships protecting the eastern seaboard and later in the Pacific. He married Mary Alice Peacock and raised her 3 children as his own. He spent most of his career after the war working as a construction boss building bridges and docks from Florida to Maryland. He built his home himself on weekends and entertained his grandchildren in the summer. He retired at 65 and lost his wife to cancer soon after. He remarried Betty Ann Braddock and spent a long and happy retirement doing what he loved, fishing, gardening, and visiting family and relatives. He was a life long Braves fan and shared that passion with his 2nd wife.
He was a generous man always willing to share whatever he had and had a good sense of humor. He loved those who showed him kindness and would always make his friends smile. He is survived by his cousin Gene Westberry, his sister Alma Irby, his stepsons Kim Braddock and Robert Darryl Peacock and several grandchildren including Laurie Thomson, Kyla Galloway and Joel Braddock. His memorial service will be held on Monday April 8th, 2pm, at Tabernacle Baptist Church 139 Dees Drive Brunswick Ga.
