Allen Tate Smith, 38, a resident of Brunswick, died Friday 2/5/10 in the Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick.Tate was a native and lifelong resident of Brunswick and was a graduate of Glynn academy Class 1990 and graduated from Georgia Tech in 1995. He was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma at Georgia Tech. He was employed with Brunswick Cellulose. He was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church.Survivors are his wife, Tamatha Thornton Smith of Brunswick, a son Jacob Colton Smith of Brunswick, his mother, Charlene Carlin Vanderbleek (Ray) of Waverly, GA, his father, Penny Bob Smith of Brunswick and several aunts, uncles and cousins.Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday 2/9/10 at the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Rowell officiating. Interment will follow at 3 PM at the Piney Grove Cemetery in Appling County.Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Georgia Tech.The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 7 to 9 PM Monday night.Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
