Born on April 25, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA to Dr. Dennis S. O’Connor and Helen Virginia Rudder O’Connor, Amy was one of five children. Though short, her life was filled with love, laughter and friends. She attended The Kent School in Kent, CT and received a B.A. from Mt. Vernon College in Washington D.C. She was one of the lucky ones, able to make a career doing what she loved most. She was a born merchant in the fashion industry. The day after graduating from Mt. Vernon College, Amy began her adventure traveling to New York City where she started sorting socks for Ralph Lauren. She went on to become a buyer for Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and The May Company, which took her all over the world, working with leading fashion artists.
Everywhere she went she led with her smile and charismatic personality, making deals and friends. Her family and friends will miss her laughter.
Amy is survived by her beloved mother and four siblings, Becky, Dennis, Bridget, and Tory; her sister-in-law, Beth O’Connor; brother-in-law, Mark Miner; nephew EJ Miner; and niece Katie Miner.
