Austeen Boyne

She was born in Ocilla, Georgia to William A. Sumner and Ruby Clarice Findley Sumner.

The family made their home in Brunswick, Georgia and Austeen attended Glynn County Schools.

Upon graduating from Glynn Academy, Austeen started working at Southern Bell Telephone Company which became her career and retired after 35 years. After retiring she worked in her husband’s Allstate office for another 15 years.

After her husband’s death and when her health started declining, she moved to Blackshear to her son’s house. She moved to Harborview Health Systems in December 2024.

Preceding her in death were her parents, siblings, Nelson Sumner, Betty Sumner Buss, WA Sumner, her husband of 61 years, Robert H. Boyne, Sr. and her son Kevin P. Boyne.

Leaving to cherish her memories are her son Robert H. Boyne II (Nancy), daughter-in-law, Catherine Boyne, grandchildren: Layton Brasher (Heather), Lindsey Brasher, Tara Boyne, Shaun Boyne, Kaitlyn Boyne Molle (Adam); great grandchildren: Alyssa Hodges, Danae Brasher; great great grandchildren: Ayla J. Hodges. Special nieces and nephews, Cindy Sumner Joyner (Ricky) Audrey Sumner, Allen Sumner (Jane), Tommy Sumner, Tami Sumner Griffith, Melissa Buss Cook (Mike). Two special friends whom she loved like daughters, Mary Bennett Sangster, Karen Bennett Beall (Jim).

A visitation will be held at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, located at 3321 Glynn Ave, Brunswick, Georgia, 31520, on February 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service to follow in the Edo Miller and Sons Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Palmetto Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your local hospice facility.
