Barbara Ann Dukes

Barbara Ann Dukes, 77, of Brunswick, departed this life Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at her residence. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 am Friday, September 6, 2024 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Mays officiating.

Born August 17, 1946 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Ben J. and Joy Eugenia B. Hodges, she was a graduate of Wayne County High School. She was also a graduate of Dell School of Medical Technology in Ashville, NC. She retired from SGHS working in hematology. She was also Medical Tech covering many counties around South Georgia for a total of 54 yrs. She was a member of Health Education Welfare (HEW) and a member of Taylors Methodist Church. Ms. Dukes enjoyed swimming, camping, reading, movies and taking cruises with her son.

Survivors include a son Gordon Bernard “Sonny” Dukes III of Brunswick, a brother Benji Eugene Hodges and wife Beth of Washington, GA, a niece and nephew Whitley and Benjamin, several cousins, and Sabrina Hamilton a special cousin and best friend.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 6, 2024 from 10 am until the funeral hour at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles. www.edomilleransons.com
