Beth Blanton Spain

Beth was born on October 31, 1947, to the late Dorothy Manning Blanton and Edgar Dunn Blanton in Brunswick, Georgia.

She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Christopher Blanton (Kristina) Spain of Valdosta, Georgia, and her grandchildren Blanton, Avery, and Baylee. She is also survived by her sister, Jody Blanton McCollum of Brunswick, Georgia.

Beth was a lifelong Brunswick resident. She graduated from Glynn Academy in 1965. Beth was genuine, kind and good-humored. Beth was diligent. She very much enjoyed her career working at American National Bank, Atlas Sign Company, YMCA, and Glynn Iron and Steel. As a local when at work and play, Beth always made the quick connection to make folks feel warmly welcomed.

Beth treasured her family as displayed in their deep connections generationally at reunions, on trips/vacations, and during holiday celebrations. A true Halloween Birthday Queen, Beth loved all things each and every holiday! From decor to treats…from outfits to place settings…from gifts to games, she brought great joy to every seasonal gathering. Celebrating at the family beach house or around their family downtown dining room table, Beth always added an air of celebration to every occasion. Family famous dishes of sweet potato souffle and various Jello-O seasonal congealed salads were indeed her specialties.

Beth traveled with dear family and friends to more richly experience the beauty of God’s creation near and far. Beth photographed all meaningful occasions with gusto and a BIG smile! Beth was beloved by all. She will be sorely missed.

A celebration of life will be held this fall on Saturday, October 26 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Edo Miller Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Reverend Richard Soperl. Visitation will be prior to the service at 10:30 in the morning on October 26th.
