

Mr. McCollum was born Sunday, November 12, 1933, to the late Hugh and Nina Eunice McCollum in his hometown of Raymond, Georgia.
Bobby was retired after 37 dedicated years of employment from Hercules as an instrument technician. He also proudly served for two years in the United States Armed Forces as a military policeman and chopper pilot during the Korean Conflict. His greatest joys in life were worshiping his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, fishing and hunting with his sons and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren and their families.
Bobby was preceded in death by the love of his life, best friend, devoted wife and mother of his 3 sons, Mildred “Mikki” Francis McCollum. Years later, he was preceded in death by Beverly McCollum and recently by Nancy McCollum. He was also preceded in death by a loving, beautiful sister, Faye Bettag and her husband, Bob, of Jacksonville, Florida.
Survivors of this blessed man are a sister, June Hiltner and husband Ronald; three sons, Bobby “Joe” McCollum, Jr. and wife Krista, Michael K. McCollum and wife Jeanne and Mark B. McCollum; two step-sons, Jimmy Rozier and Jason Lafluer; a step daughter, Tonya Ingle; six outstanding grandchildren, Robert McCollum, Erika Chan, Jennifer Nelsen, Keith McCollum, Brandy McCollum and Andrea McCollum, and six extraordinary great grands.
The family will receive friends between 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A memorial service to honor Bobby’s life will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Reverend Randy Lamb will officiate the service.
