C. A. "Shorty" Wallace

Shorty was born in Jesup, GA September 13, 1946 and lived in McIntosh County all of his life. He graduated from Darien High School in 1964. Shorty had many jobs in his life. He worked for Union Camp, Interstate Paper Company, was a shrimper, a pastor and evangelist, a city and county policeman, managed the McIntosh County Landfill for 9 years and owned S G and B Waste Disposal Co for 9 years and then retired in 2004. He was an active member of Live Oak Lodge #137 in Darien, GA for 50 yrs. Very active in Morgan's Chapel UMC and played his guitar and sang anywhere he had an opportunity.

He was preceded in death by Pauline Deal Wallace (birthmother), parents Alfred Mercer Wallace and Catherine Wallace, and reared by grandmother, Essie Wallace.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Goodrich Wallace of 50 yrs; 2 daughters Sonya Wallace Lumley and Georgia Wallace Nessmith both of Belle Bluff; 3 grandchildren Shelby (Justin) Nessmith Reed and Steven Andrew Nessmith both of Statesboro, Kayla Elizabeth Lumley of Belle Bluff; 2 great grandchildren Paisleigh and Connor Reed; 5 brothers Dennis Wallace, John (Gale) Wallace, Jimmy (Donna) Wallace, Bruce Wallace and Bill (Meg) Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends 5 PM. – 8 PM. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., in Brunswick.

A funeral service is to be conducted 11 AM., Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Morgan’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 3308 Shellman Bluff Rd. NE., Townsend, where Reverend R. Grant Abernathy, and Reverend Melissa Traver is to officiate. Interment will follow the service at Morgan’s Chapel Cemetery with Full Masonic Rites.

Active pallbearers are Justin Reed, Andrew Nessmith, Alfred Wallace III, Will Wallace, Aaron Wallace and Ken Cook.

Honorary pallbearers are his brothers and Morgan's Chapel Church Family.
