Camille Hulse Powell

Jean “Camille” Hulse Powell , of Brunswick, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was born in Beaufort, South Carolina on September 11, 1956. Camille is predeceased by her parents James Edward Hulse, Jr. and Frances White Hulse.

Camille is survived by her devoted husband, Victor Jon Powell, sons, Grayson and Bradley Powell and granddaughter Autumn Powell. Also survived by her siblings Lindy Akin, Eddie Hulse, Mirian Vonaschek and Chris Hulse.

Camille will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and joy of life. She was a diligent worker and particularly enjoyed jobs that required interaction with other people… in the office at B and W, paraprofessional at Glyndale Elementary School, server at Spanky’s, manager of Smokey Joe’s. Camille had many friends and was a friend to many. She had a welcoming spirit that invited people of all ages, stations and experiences.

Camille was a person who lived out her faith. As a youth and adult until her illness, she was an active member of First United Methodist Church, participating in all facets, particularly in the music program. Music was the language with which she loved most to express herself. From the band at Glynn Academy where she was the first female drum major, to church choirs, to a ladies trio, to organizing and directing a choir at St. Mark's Tower, she used her God-given musical talent to inspire and to uplift.

Camille will be greatly missed, and remembered fondly as one who made this world a more pleasant place.

A visitation will occur October 28, 2024 from 10:00 to 10:45 followed by a Service of Remembrance at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1400 Norwich St. Brunswick, Georgia.
