Catherine “Cathy” Lobis , 87, of St. Simons Island, GA formerly of Stockbridge, GA died Tuesday June 28, 2011 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. Graveside service will be held 2 pm, Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens 5765 Mallory Rd., College Park, GA with Reverend Sammy Chancey officiating. Interment will follow the service.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm-8 pm, Thursday, June 30, 2011 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Lobis was a native of Spaulding County born April 4, 1924 to the late Edward Gardner and the late Nancy Clyde Dearing. She was a former resident of Stockbridge, GA, residing in St. Simons Island, GA for the past two and half years. Mrs. Lobis was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. She was a former member and past president of the Jonesboro-Bonanza Lions Clubs, also a former member of the Moose Lodge in Forest Park, GA and an avid bingo player. She leaves behind many fond memories and will be sadly missed by all.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lobis is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Edward Lobis, four brothers and four sisters.

Mrs. Lobis is survived by her children Linda Greene and husband Larry of St. Simons Island, GA, Jackie Sanford and husband Jim, and Joseph Lobis II and wife Lynn all of Stockbridge, GA, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or to the Golden Isles Baptist Church, 123 River Ridge Rd. Brunswick, GA 31523.
