Charlotte was born in Baltimore, MD, on May 13, 1949, to Dr. Edmund and Mrs. Eugenia Virusky. She grew up in Baxley, Georgia, and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1971. She later earned four master’s degrees from Georgia Southern University. She passionately worked as a first grade teacher at Frederica Academy for 34 years, where she was adored by all. In 2017, she married Jack Gore to whom she remained married until her death.
In addition to Jack, Charlotte is survived by her son, Dr. Walter Grady Floyd III (Dr. Fiona Kehoe); her step-children, Thomas Gore, Timothy Gore, Lamar Gore, and Sylvia Rozell; her brother, Edmund Virusky (Cynthia); and her grandchildren, Farah Winifred Floyd and Fallon Eugenia Floyd.
Charlotte was a devoted mother and wife. She enjoyed being out on the dock, spending time with her granddaughters, cooking, reading, and scuba diving. She was an expert in entertaining, making people feel special, and connecting with people, both young and old. She found beauty in all things. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
