Charlotte Evans Williams

Charlotte Evans Williams, 84, of St. Simons Island, GA passed away Sunday the 16th of February 2014 at Magnolia Manor. She was born in Anniston, Alabama on the 10th of April 1929 and has been a resident of St. Simons Island twenty five years. Mrs. Williams graduated from Talladega High School and received her BS degree from Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, GA and her Masters of Psychology from Columbia University in New York, NY. Mrs. Williams is a retired teacher and counselor Of the Alabama School System. She is a member and past president of Amity House for Battered Women, and past president of Golden Isles Duplicate Bridge Club. She is also Life Master of American Contract Bridge League.

Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her parents Roy Rodgers Evans and John Isabell Whelchel.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Lawrence Thomas Williams, Jr. of St. Simons Island, GA; three children Charlotte W. Williams of Birmingham, AL, Roy Evans Williams, Sr. of St. Simons Island, GA, and Lawrence Thomas Williams, III of Huntsville AL; four grandchildren James Lee Williams, Jr. of Springfield, MO, Samantha Nicole Williams of Snead, AL, Laura Ann Williams of Nashville, TN, and Hanna Rae Williams of Orange Beach, AL; a great-grandchild BrayLynn Williams.

Family will receive friends 4 PM- 6 PM, Thursday 20th of February at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Mrs. Williams Inurnment will be in Talladega, AL, at a later date.
