

Cheryl was born in Fitzgerald, Georgia the daughter of the late Lacy M. Johnson and the late Marjorie Batton. She moved with her parents to Brunswick when she was in the fifth grade and later graduated from Brunswick High School. She then earned her Bachelor’s in Science Degree with a major in Mathematics. She then received her Masters of Education Degree from Georgia Southern University. She then had a successful career as a high school Mathematics Teacher in Glynn, McIntosh, and Liberty Counties. She was also very active in the Jaycees and a member of the Fellowship Methodist Church.
Cheryl was a very kind hearted and loving person. She loved her grandchildren and her love for children was the reason she loved teaching. She was an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish her many memories are her husband of 46 years, Thomas Tasciotti; her daughter, Nox (Amy) Carlson and her husband, Ed Carlson; a granddaughter, Emily Carlson. She is also survived by numerous honorary children and grandchildren she had adopted as her own.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions made in Cheryl’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
