Dale Lewis Hanen

Dale Lewis Hanen, 81, of Brunswick, GA passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Hospice of Golden Isles. Born January 10, 1934, Mr. Hanen was the son of the late Verie Lewis Hanen and the late Ellen Hetletved Hanen. A native of Minneapolis, MN, he had been a resident of Glynn County for the past forty years. He was a twenty year Air Force veteran, where he served in the Korean War. He was employed with Georgia Pacific for twenty years, where he was a Traffic Manager. He was a Fifty Year Masonic member of the Ocean Lodge #214 F.&A.M and a member of the Alee Shrine Temple in Savannah, GA, Mr. Hanen was Past President of the Brunswick Shrine Club, and a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #691. He was also a member of the St. James Lutheran Church. Mr. Hanen loved to travel when he was not helping others.

In addition to his parents Mr. Hanen was preceded in death by his son Mark Hanen, his two sisters Versie Mcneil and Arlene Johnson, and his brother Owen

Hanen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Betty Jane Hanen of Brunswick, GA, one son, Paul Michael Hanen of Woodbine, GA, two daughters, Pamela Suzanne Gayler (Tim) of Columbus, GA and Gayle Hanen Moore (Chan) of Brunswick, GA, four grandchildren, Neena Morris, Kacey Hanen, Reece Moore, and Griffin Moore, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015, 10:00 A.M., in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Laura Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Shawn Corcoran, James Blount, Ricky Leard, Charlie Murphy, Bobby Miller, and Randy Mankin.

The family request memorial contributions to be made to the Shriners Children Hospital-Tampa, 12502 USF Pine Drive, Tampa, FL 33612-9411.
