Daphne was born February 10, 1927 in Newport News, Virginia the daughter of the late William Burnice Clemons and the late Beulah Lea Clemons. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jane Frisbie Cohen. She resided previously in Jacksonville, Florida and was a professional secretary. While living in Jacksonville, Daphne met and married the love of her life, George Fildes Tresher Jr. They later moved to Saint Simon Island, Georgia. She was a member of the Neptune Garden Club and a Camps Farthest Out member.
Daphne was a virtuous woman that always displayed a sweet spirit. She was never critical, but always a prayer warrior. She was a lady of faith that was always willing to share her beliefs with others. She was blessed to have led many to Christ with her sweet spirit and the help of her Lord.
Left to cherish Daphne’s memories are her husband, George Fildes Tresher Jr; her three daughetrs, Daphne Tresher Stephenson (Jimmy) of Valdosta, GA, Kelly Gunderson (Jeff) of Saint Simons Island, GA, and Leigh Rhodes (Tony) of Saint Simons Island; Two sons, John Wade Tresher of Savannah, GA and William Clemons Tresher of Screven, GA; her nine grandchildren, Hollie Stephenson, Austin Blake Stephenson, Madison Burgner Staudacher, Pierce Gunderson, Tresher and Tate Rhodes, Ian Bullard, Lori Lea Hamm, and Erin Driggers; seven great grandchildren, Daphne Staudacher, Pearson and Aaron Hamm, Harry and Mavry Driggers, also Meghan and Nickolas Bullard.
Daphne loved to spend time with her family and friends. She also loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was an avid reader and like to sew. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, and redecorating. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.
A Memorial Service to honor Daphne’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Christian Renewal Church on Saint Simons Island with Pastor Bill Ligon officiating.
