David Earl Lane

David Earl Lane, 69, of Darien, departed this life Monday, July 27, 2015 at his residence in Darien. A memorial service will be held at 11AM , Thursday, July 30, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church of Darien with Rev. Danny Grace officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Darien High Class of 1963. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Born November 18, 1945 in Glynn County, Georgia, to the late Roland and Jeannie W. Lane, he was a lifelong resident of McIntosh County. Mr. Lane was a Graduate of Darien High School Class of 1963 and a Graduate of Brewton-Parker College Class of 1965. He was a retired manager of Bluestein’s Super Market, and also employed at Duckworth Tire in Hinesville. Mr. Lane served several terms as Chairman of The McIntosh County Commissioners and was also a former member of The Georgia National Guard and was a member of American Legion Post 137.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Clara M. Lane of Darien, two daughters, Penni Haberly and husband Clay of Macon, and Ami Hulett and husband Galin of Darien, a son, Allen Lane and wife Meg of Newberry, FL, six grandchildren, Danielle and Collin Hammock, Grayson, David, and Olivia Hulett and Abbi Lane, a brother, Joe Lane of Oriental, NC, a sister, Linda Miller of Brunswick, and several nieces and nephews.
