David Walter McKie

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Wright Culpepper officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Oglethorpe Memorial Garden Cemetery on Saint Simons Island.

Mr. McKie was a native of Savannah, GA, but had resided in Saint Simons Island, GA for the past several years. He was the son of the late William Walter and Mary Lee McKie. He was an Engineering consultant and also a Mason. Mr. McKie was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. He also enjoyed fishing and Nascar racing. He loved to spend time with his family and his grandchildren were the joy of his eye.

Mr. McKie was preceded in death by his mother and father; his maternal grandparents, W.T. and Susie Howard; his Paternal grandparents, William Claude and Louise McKie. He is survived by his loving wife Anne Elizabeth McKie of Saint Simons Island, GA; a son Jason Robitz ( Krista) of Saint Simons Island, GA; grandchildren, Bo, Amelia, Grace, and Reynolds; a daughter, Sarah Stephens of Ludowici, GA; grandchildren, Kensley and Lourdes; one sister, Fran Owens ( Mark) of Saint Simons Island, GA; a sister-in-law, Lillian Haskell of Albany, GA; a niece, Stephanie Owens of Saint Simons Island, GA; one nephew, Sean Haskell of Albany, GA.

David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. However, his loving family and friends will have many fond memories to cherish forever.
