

Dorothy Louise Peeples Highsmith, 83, of Brunswick, GA passed away Thursday the 19th of June 2014 at Southeast Georgia Health System. A funeral service will be held 2 PM Monday the 23rd of June 2014 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Tim Brown presiding. Interment will follow at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Larry Parrish, Lowell Leggett, Rick Morris, Malachi Morris, Brad Cox, and David Highsmith will be serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be O.D. Manning, Louise Evans, Joe Cooler, and the Over the Hill Gang.
Family will receive friends from 4 PM – 6 PM Sunday the 22nd of June 2014 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Mrs. Highsmith was born the 24th of December 1930 in Hampton South Carolina to the late Laud Edgar Peeples and the late Bessie Hartley Peeples. She had been a resident of Glynn County since 1934. She was a homemaker and a member of the Blythe Island Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping with the Over the Hill Gang . Mrs. Highsmith leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Mrs. Highsmith parent’s she is preceded in death by her daughter Susan Highsmith, two sons Robert Highsmith and Charlie Highsmith, two bothers Rudy and Randolph Peeples; and three sisters Minnie Reis , Rose Peeples, and Annabelle Cooler.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years Robert C. Highsmith of Brunswick, GA; her two sons Phillip Highsmith and wife Sharon, and Louis Highsmith (Brenda Murray); her five grandchildren Amanda Morris (Malachi), Brad Cox, David Highsmith, Brooke Highsmith, and Nathan Highsmith; two great-grandchildren; two brothers Pete and Tommy Peeples, and several nieces and nephews.
