Born in Camden County on February 21, 1924, she was educated in Glynn County schools. She later met and married her soulmate and the love of her life, Harry Walters. They moved to Decatur, Georgia to pursue Harry’s career as an attorney, while Dorothy worked at The Hartford Insurance Company.
Dorothy had been a resident of the Senior Care Center - Brunswick since 2012. She embraced her life at the Center by organizing many social activities that included dances and a pageant. She enjoyed the role of DJ, playing music daily for the residents in Ocean Breeze. Affectionately referred to by her family as Aunt Dot, she will be remembered for her spunk, sense of humor, and strong love of family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Harry, her parents, six sisters, and one brother. Several nieces and nephews survive.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Palmetto Cemetery.
