Earl D Mehl

Earl Mehl, 69, of Brunswick passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. All who knew him will cherish the memory of the way he loved his family and served God and others.

Born Feb. 24, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas, Earl Duane Mehl was the son of Elda Egbert Mehl and Otto J. Mehl . He grew up in Liberal, KS with his brother, Gary Mehl. He graduated from college in 1966 and went on to pursue a career in accounting. On June, 6, 1964, he married Rosemary Boese and during the last 48 years, they made their home together in many places including Kansas, New Jersey, and Georgia. They also spent time overseas in Nigeria, where they served three years with SIM (Sudan Interior Mission) as missionaries and Uganda, where Earl served for two years as the Bursar for Uganda Christian University. Since 1985 they have made their home in Brunswick, GA where he worked for Map International as an accountant for 17 years.

Earl’s love of God and for the Bible was evident to all who knew him. He was very intentional about passing on a legacy of faith to his children- Anne and Jason, and his grandchildren- Rosalyn, Jacob, Lily, and Moses. He lived his faith each and every day and was an example of integrity to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Mehl, daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Corey Bosarge of Brunswick, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Louise Mehl of Toccoa, Georgia; and brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Connie Mehl of Broken Arrow, OK.

Earl was preceeded in death by his parents and stillborn daughter, Lori Dawn Mehl.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Dec. 21 at 10:30am at The Chapel, 114 Harris Farm Road, Brunswick, GA. Family and friends are invited to honor Earl’s memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway Brunswick, GA 31525.
