Edgar Lyle Davis, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 11AM in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Pat McCord officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Plum Orchid Cemetery in Townsend. Pallbearers include: Bruce, Gary and Paul Davis, Bruce Deverger, Cary Wicker, and Glenn Townsend.

Edgar was born August 12, 1935 in Townsend to the late Edgar Lyle Davis, Sr., and Leona Rozier Davis. He graduated from Darien High School and was a member of Townsend Baptist Church. He was owner and operator of Davis Timber. Edgar enjoyed the outdoors from farming, fishing, sports and hunting.

Survivors include his daughter: Brenda Rist of Townsend; three sons: Bruce Davis of Pensacola, FL; Paul Davis of Athens, GA and Gary Davis of Pensacola, FL; two sisters: Jimmie Ann Stopchuck (Mike) of Brunswick and Dorothy Tatum (Benny) of Brunswick; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31522.
