

Edna Wallace Wheeler, 97, of Brunswick, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026, at Hospice of the Golden Isles. She leaves a legacy of faith, service, and love that touched many lives.
A native of College Park, Georgia, she has been a resident of Brunswick for over 75 years.
A devoted Christian woman, Edna faithfully served her church, Glyndale Baptist, for over 60 years. She dedicated much of her life to nurturing others in their spiritual journeys as a WMU leader, Sunday School teacher, and devoted leader of the Golden Harvest senior adult ministry. Her unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and servant’s heart made a lasting impact on her church family and community.
Edna was also known for her compassionate service as a volunteer “Pink Lady” at Brunswick Memorial Hospital, where she faithfully gave her time in various hospitality roles, offering comfort and care to patients, families, and staff for many years. She enjoyed studying her Bible, spending time with family and friends, playing bridge, cooking, and helping others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Chester Wheeler, her sister, Gwendolyn (Gwen) Thompson, and her granddaughter, Caroline Wheeler. Together, Edna and Chester built a strong and loving family grounded in faith and devotion.
Edna is survived by her brother, Gerald Wallace of Fayetteville, two sons, Gregory Wheeler (Katha) of Brunswick and Gary Wheeler (Lynda) of Marietta; her grandchildren, Lindsey Youssef, Emily Stephens, and Tanner Tovey; as well as six cherished great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ken Creekmore officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. A private burial will follow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Price McClain, Brandon Stephens, Dennis Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Kevin Wallace, and Jay Young.

Edna Wheeler will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her attention to detail, and her lifelong dedication to serving others. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
