

Eloise was born Jan 24, 1931, to William and Ruby Liston in Burlington, VT. She attended Burlington High School, The University of Vermont, Montevallo University and the University of Houston. Eloise was an educator for 25 years, teaching in Galveston, Texas, Santa Fe County, Texas, and McIntosh and Glynn counties, GA, retiring with 21 years at Risley Middle School. After retirement she traveled extensively with her late husband David as well with family and friends.
Eloise was a member of Christ Church Frederica, where she expressed joy and faith as a member of the adult choir. Eloise provided volunteer work for First Steps, Manna House and CMAP. She was strongly dedicated to her family, faith and friends.
Eloise is predeceased by her parents, William and Ruby Liston; brothers Ronald and Douglas Liston; son in law Charles Egeland, and her cherished husband of 47 years, David L. Harrington.
She is survived by daughters Kathy Flournoy (Phillip) of Blythe Island, GA; Elizabeth (BJ) Egeland (Al), of Blythe Island, GA; Joan Harrington of St. Simons Island, GA, and Barbara Herrel (Thomas) of Portland, ME; grandchildren Brian Smith (Julee), Daniel Smith (April), Jennifer Egeland, Philip Eckerd, Amber Egeland and Andrew Eckerd, all whose gratitude for her life and love cannot be measured. She is also survived by brother in law Cornelius (Buzz) Harrington (Helen) and sister in laws Ann Kulisa (Chet), Evelyn Liston, Mary Jean Liston and Nancy Liston.
Eloise was also blessed with a great grandson Jack Smith as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and their children.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to her doctors and caregivers at Southeast Georgia Health System, Mayo Clinic of Florida, and the many friends who provided care, support, and friendship through the course of her illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Christ Church Frederica on St. Simons Island, GA. A reception will follow in the Parish House. Per her request, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Christ Church Frederica - 6329 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA 31522, or designated for cancer research at The Mayo Clinic.
