Emma Xara Franklin Robson

Emma Xara Franklin Robson, 89, passed away on the 30th of October 2012 at her residence in Stafford, Texas. A funeral service will be conducted on the 5th of November 2012, at 1:00 PM at Taylors United Methodist Church 766 Old Jesup Rd, Brunswick, GA. Burial will follow the service in Taylors United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as active pallbearers will be Raymond Phillips, Jim Strickland, Joe Robson Phillips, James Strickland, Earl Buckner, and Harold Moore.

Visitation will be held from 6 PM -8 PM Sunday the 4th of November 2012 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA

Mrs. Robson was born on the 3rd of June 1923 in Aiken South Carolina. She is the daughter of the late Ola Estelle Brinson and the late John Allen Franklin. She had been a resident of Brunswick since 1945. Mrs. Robson was a social worker retiring after 15 years from the Department of Family and Children Services. She served faithfully at the Taylors United Methodist Church and the Willing Sunday School Class. She also served as treasurer of the UMW.

In addition to Mrs. Robson’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband Owens Robson.

She is survived by her two daughters Amelia Grace Robson Strickland and husband Jim of Stafford, Texas and Joanne Phillips and husband Raymond of Brunswick, GA; her brother John Brinson Franklin of Savannah, GA; three grandchildren Joe Robson Phillips and wife Alana of Tennessee, Laura de la Borda and husband Rick of Dallas, Texas, and James F. Strickland, Jr. and wife Angela of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robson is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many other relatives.
