

Frances M. Fordham, 92, of St. Simons Island, died Sunday, November 10, 2013, on St. Simons Island at her granddaughter’s residence. Graveside rites will be held 11AM Thursday morning , November 14, 2013 in Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simon Island, with Dr. John Stephens officiating and Dr. John Laws assisting. Pallbearers will be Nathan Williams, Taylor Fordham, Dean DePue, Michael Ham, Larry Dyal, Jr., Jim Williams, and John Duncan Fordham, Jr. A reception will follow at the residence of Amanda and Jim Williams, on St. Simons Island.
Born May 14, 1921 in Macon, Georgia to the late John Thomas and Ethel Whiteside Morgan, she was a retired office manager for her daughter, Amanda Williams. Mrs. Fordham had been a resident of Glynn County since1982, moving from Griffin, Georgia. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and enjoyed needlepoint and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Richard Fordham, and two brothers John Thomas Morgan, Jr., and Dr. Jimmy Morgan.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Williams and husband Jim of St. Simons Island, three sons, Joseph R. Fordham, Jr., and wife Ronni of Knoxville, TN, Morgan Taylor Fordham and wife Becky, of Griffin, GA, and John Duncan Fordham and wife Terry of Augusta, GA, eleven grandchildren, Frances W. Dyal and husband Larry, Jennifer Ham and husband Michael, Nathan Williams and wife Martha, Laurel Perez and husband Joe, Samantha De Pue and husband Dean, Taylor Fordham and wife Whitney, John Duncan Fordham, Nathalie Williams, Bailey Fordham, Morgan Fordham, and Luann Fordham, and fifteen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles or Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund.
