

Gene Westberry, 78, of Brunswick, died Monday, April 1, 2013 at SGHS in Brunswick. Memorial services will be held 2PM Thursday, April 4, 2013 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Hartzog and Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating. Inurnment will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery.
Born November 25, 1934 in Appling County Georgia to the late Albert W. and Lucy F. Westberry, he was a veteran of The US Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Westberry had been a resident of Brunswick most of his life, and was a former service technician with Sears. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and regularly attended the Hardees Coffee Club with several close friends. Mr. Westberry enjoyed gardening, woodworking, was an avid singer and piano player, playing solitaire and free cell on his computer, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family said he always had a smile for everyone. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary A. Westberry, a son, Mark Westberry and wife Jamie, a daughter Linda Harvey and husband Robert, all of Brunswick, five grandchildren, Brandon Westberry and wife Genny, Blythe Kelly and husband Austin, Robby Harvey, Angel Herndon, and Scott Hamil, three great grandchildren, Madeline Westberry, Fenway Westberry, and Brantley Marie Herndon, and several special nieces and nephews, and sister and brothers in law.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, April 3, 2013 from 6PM until 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Northside Baptist Church HVAC Fund. www.edomillerandsons.com
