

Gena was born June 5, 1967 in Brunswick, Georgia, the daughter of the late George Frank Seely and the late Jane Barnard Seely. Gena grew up on Jekyll Island. She was a homemaker and a loving wife to her husband, Gary Allen Goss. She enjoyed her loving family, gardening, outdoors and fishing. Gena was an animal lover and leaves eleven dogs behind that are like children to her and Gary. The family will always remember Gena’s very special canine friend, King Kissing Fur.
Gena is preceded in death by her parents, George Frank Seely and Jane Barnard Seely; two sons, Frank Bessent and Joey Griffis; and also a brother, Bobby Seely Barnard. She is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Allen Goss of Hortense, GA; a stepson, Gary Allen Goss of Brunswick, GA; her caring sister and brother-in-law, Fran and Michael Bessent of Loxahatchee, FL; special sister Jamee Barnard of Midway, GA; four grandsons; Jake Griffis, Landon Griffis, Kaleb Griffis and Seth Goss. Gena also survived by her extended family of brothers and sisters, Peggy & Ralph Watson of Waycross, GA., Larry & Carol Goss of Brunswick, GA., Debra & Lynn Walker of Brunswick, GA., Diane Goss of Brunswick, GA and the late Judy Sheffield. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will hold a Celebration of Gena’s Life Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for memorial contributions to be made in the memory of Gena Goss to the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, 4627 US-17, Brunswick, GA 31525.
Gena was so very passionate about her love for dogs and the way dogs always love unconditionally.
Gena loved the Lord and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her kind ways, easy going nature and as a gentle person with a big, compassionate heart.
