Gerald H. Edwards

Went to his Lord on July 18, 2022. He was 87.

Jerry was born on Hamilton Plantation, St. Simons Island in 1934. He served in the Air National Guard, was a member of Young Men of America, founding member of St. Simons Jaycees, elected as Glynn County Commissioner from 1968-1972, has been involved in ALL means of construction, from residential, commercial to marine. Built the Golden Isles Speedway, Frederica Academy's first gym, Brunswick High's current gym, St. Mary's Pavillion and MANY other projects in Southeast Georgia. An individual who has made a huge impact and contribution to our Glynn County community.

Jerry was predeceased by his grandsons Miles Brooks and Gerald Hamilton "Trey" Edwards, III and is survived by his daughters, Gennene Brooks (Mike), Robin Marsili (Gino), and Paige; his son, Jay. Grandchildren, Ana Brooks Josephs (Jonathan), Maddison Brooks Barry (Daniel), Vincent Marsili, Caylin and Hamilton Edwards. Great Grandchildren, Zion, Elias, Olivia Josephs, Eleanor and Goldie Barry; and various nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank Dr's. Grub and Hula, Nurses Tabitha, Nick and the staff of Tower 5 at the Southeast Georgia Healthcare System for their kindness and compassion.

A memorial will be held at Edo Miller Funeral Home, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the service.
