Grace Marie (Straquadanio) Lappart Meyers Robinson, at 100 years of age, passed peacefully on April 30, 2022, at the Senior Care Center-Brunswick, Georgia. Born on June 4, 1921, to Santo Straquadanio and Salvatrice Laterra, she was the last surviving sibling of eight other brothers and sisters.
Grace contributed to the World War II effort through her work at the Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, North Carolina, while her first husband, a career Marine, was deployed in the Pacific Theatre. Her contribution is recognized on the Honor Roll of the National World War II Museum. She retired from Robert Wood Johnson Memorial Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
An avid reader, Grace also enjoyed painting and art, and delighted in studying interior design. Whether she was living in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Florida or Georgia, she never met a thrift shop or yard sale she didn’t like.
She is survived by her six children: David C. Meyers (Roberta Crisson), Deborah Meyers Kerick (Patrick), George K. Meyers, Jr. (Regina), Raymond J. Meyers (Robin), Mindy Meyers Tolle (Thomas) and Heide Meyers Rink (Thomas Sr.); 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family is grateful for the care and compassion shown by the entire administration and staff at the Senior Care Center- Brunswick, especially the caregivers in Harbor View and Ocean Breeze. Their attention and affection for “Miss Grace” added immensely to her quality of life. Edo Miller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services are private at the request of the family.
