

Mr. Harry Porter O’Cain, JR, 71, of Waverly, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 7, 2016 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. Mr. O’Cain was born in Macon, Georgia on July 28, 1944 to the late H.P. O’Cain, SR and the late Lillian Jackson O’Cain. Mr. O’Cain graduated from the University of Georgia where he received a Pharmacy degree. Upon graduating from the University of Georgia, Mr. O’Cain worked for several independent pharmacies. In 1982, he acquired Noland’s Pharmacy in St. Marys, Georgia, which he owned for 18 years. For the last 17 years Mr. O’Cain has been employed by CVS. Mr. O’Cain was a member of the Georgia Pharmacy Association. He also had an interest in golfing and fishing.
Mr. O’Cain is survived by his wife Sally McDonald O’Cain of Waverly, GA; his children Steve O’Cain, Misty Johns, and Amanda Colvin; his grandchildren Elijah O’Cain, Luke O’Cain, Emily Johns, Joshua Johns, Jacob Johns, and Madison Colvin; his sister Jacquelyn O’Cain Smith and brother-in-law C. Hunter Smith; several nieces, nephews and other family members.
A funeral service will be held Monday, July 11, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1105 Union Street Brunswick, Georgia, with Reverend Chris Noyes officiating. The family will receive friends at the First Presbyterian Church Social Hall one hour before the service (1:00 P.M.-2:00 P.M.). Interment will follow the service at Palmetto Cemetery.
Serving pallbearers will be Chad Williams, Josh Parmelee, Andrew Parmelee, Mike Parmelee, Ronnie Rowe, and Chris Porreca.
The family request donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church Senior Grocery Program or the Powell McDonald Bicycle Fund in care of the Exchange Club of Brunswick P.O. Box 567 Brunswick, Georgia 31521.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Robinson Center of the Hospice of the Golden Isles who cared for Harry during his brief stay.
