

A native of Baxley, Georgia, she had been a resident of Glynn County for the past many years. Mrs. May was born February 1, 1928 to the late Beatrice Sapp and the late Dahlongeha Yawn. Mrs. May was a lifetime bookkeeper for Food Fair and Pantry Pride prior to her retirement in 1978. She was a member of Norwich Baptist Church, and was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband Frank A. May, son- in- law William David Bland, grandson Robert Drawdy, brothers Robert Yawn, J.L.Yawn, Dahlongeha Yawn and her sisters Ovie Metcalf, Ona Dell Pickren and Shelby Butts.
Mrs. May is survived by her four daughters Sara Ann Gentry, Susan Alexander and husband Carl, Shirley Bland, and Sheryl Skarpalezos-Vining and husband Jay; Eight Grandchildren Tim Gentry, Roy Gentry, Donnie Drawdy, Grace Alexander, Sheila Bland, Shelly Griffin, David Bland and Jessica Park; Great grandchildren Blain Gentry, Robert Gentry, Brody Gentry, Victoria Gentry, Eli Gentry, Gunner Gentry, Asher Griffin, Emma Bland, Liam Bland and Jayden Park.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM-3:00 PM Monday, March 27, 2017 at Norwich Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM with DR. Art Cyphers officiating. Burial will follow with a funeral cortege to Palmetto Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Tim Gentry, Roy Gentry, Eli Gentry, Gunner Gentry, Bob Howell, Don Kicklighter, George Skarpalezos, Bobby Johns, Donnie Drawdy, and David Bland.
