

Isabel Cook Van Over, 103, of Brunswick, formerly of Atlanta, Georgia passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son-in law Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, December 12, 2014 at Emanuel United Methodist Church with Rev. Eddie Morrison officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Georgia at 11AM Saturday, December 13, 2014. Isabel was born August 30, 1911 in Charlotte, NC to the late Rev. Frederick William and Eva Lee Nicholson Cook. She graduated from Davenport College in Lenoir, NC, and moved to Atlanta in 1945. She worked at Georgia Power Company for 30 years, retiring in 1975. Ms. Van Over was a member of Rock Spring Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, and Emanuel United Methodist Church in Brunswick. She was a past President of the City Council at Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority in Atlanta. Her greatest hobby was cooking and attending Ursula’s Cooking School in Atlanta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Fred, Paul & Bill Cook and 2 sisters, Martha Smith and Mary Stewart. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Elizabeth “Liz” Jones and son-in-law Jack Jones. Grandchildren: Edward N. Morgan (LuAnn), Elizabeth L. Blakey, W. Kelly Morgan (Tammie), Leslie Jones (Sasha), Colleen Narbatovics (John), Michael Jones (Wendy), Cindy Zielinski (Dan); 16 Great Grandchildren and 17 Great Great Grandchildren. Her family and friends were very thankful to have this wonderful lady in their lives.
