Jackie Burney Todd

Jackie Burney Todd, 71, of Marietta, Georgia died peacefully at her residence on February 9, 2021 after a difficult battle with cancer. A private graveside service will be conducted Saturday, February 13, 2021in Palmetto Cemetery with Dr. Peter Vivenzio officiating.

Born November 19, 1949 in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Harvey and Ruth P. Burney, she was a 1967 graduate of Glynn Academy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Southern and her Master’s Degree from the University of North Florida. She began her teaching career at St. Simons Elementary and retired from The Cobb County School District in 2001. Jackie lived a fulfilling life as a daughter, sister, friend and neighbor. She was an avid reader, enjoyed decorating her home, cooking and doing special things for her family and friends. She had strong faith in God and was a beacon of light inspiring others. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Andy Burney and a sister, June Burney Nichols.

Survivors include two sisters, Sandra Chapman and husband Joe of Kennesaw, Linda Davis and husband Pete of Newington, NH, brother Rod Burney and wife Susan of Fernandina Beach, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
