

Jacob Waller Key (JW/Jay) went to fish in his heavenly home on April 12, 2022. He was born a Bulldog on February 23, 1984 in Athens, Ga to Angie Driggers & Howell Key. Jacob is a 2002 graduate from Elbert County High School where he was a member of JROTC for 4 years and played football as an Elbert County Blue Devil. Jacob was a heavy equipment operator by day and avid shark fisherman by night. You could find him at the St Simons pier on any given night fishing and helping anyone who had any questions about shark fishing.
Jacob was proceeded in death by his grandparents Frankie & Geraldine Batchelor and JW & Dorothy Key, great grandparents Robert & Janie Mae Cannon.
Jacob is survived by his children, Duston Wyatt, Madison Danielle, and Gracelyn Shae; his parents, Angie Driggers (Greg) and Howell Key (Tamara); siblings, Melissa LeClair (Adam), Ethan Key, John Grubbs (Hannah), Megan Driggers (Jacob), Amanda Richardson (John Paul) Philip Foster, and Robert Fountain; nieces, Karleigh LeClair and IvyRae Grubbs; uncle, Harold Batchelor (Lisa); aunt, Sharon Key; and many cousins who loved him dearly.
If you knew Jacob, then you know how much he loved being on the water with a fishing pole in his hand.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 16th, 2022 at 1pm as Gascoigne Bluff on St Simons Island. Family and friends ask everyone to wear your favorite UGA gear or any fishing gear you have. Jacob loved the Georgia Bulldogs and fishing. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SSI Sharkin incorporated.
