

James (Jim) was born in Lynn, Massachusetts on the 9th of June 1936. He is preceded in death by his wife Suzanne Rhodes Crankshaw, parents Edwin Crankshaw and Lillian Crankshaw, parents-in-law Lois Gleneva Rhodes and Max Clyde Rhodes, and his son Scott Rhodes Crankshaw.
He studied English Literature at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut and Business Administration at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. His long and successful career as an automotive executive culminated in leadership responsibilities at Lear Corporation in Southfield, Michigan.
Jim grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and was a long-time resident of Birmingham, Michigan before retiring with Suzanne to St. Simon’s Island, Georgia. He later lived in Illinois before moving to Colorado to be with his family.
Jim was a kind, caring soul with a smile for everyone he met. His sense of humor was contagious. Jim was an avid reader, competitive bridge partner with Suzanne, and a keen observer of American politics.
Jim is survived by his son Brooks Pearson Crankshaw and daughter-in-law Lisa Hale Crankshaw of Golden, Colorado; brother Carl Crankshaw and sister-in-law Ruth Crankshaw of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; daughter-in-law Laura Crankshaw of Tallahassee, Florida; grandsons Max Rhodes Crankshaw and Drew Crankshaw of Savannah and Zachary Crankshaw of Tallahassee, Florida; and granddaughter Aline Rhodes Crankshaw of Golden, Colorado.
