Jessie Marie Witten Smith

Jessie Marie Witten Smith, 76, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at SGHS in Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Golden Isles Christian church with Rev. Joe Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with grandsons, Jason Velie, Lee Sessoms, Logan Smith, Landon Smith, Adam Cothren, and Mark Vinluan serving as pallbearers.

Born January 27, 1938 in Meade County, Kentucky to the late Coy L. and Kary C. Witten, she had been a resident of Glynn County since 1970. Mrs. Smith was retired from Brunswick Manufacturing and was a member of Golden Isles Christian Church. She enjoyed embroidery, knitting, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, as well as spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a great grand daughter, Brianna Marie Cothren, brothers, Earl Witten, Thurman Witten, and sisters, Frances Wilson and Willa Havens.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Roudonald Smith of Brunswick, children, Donna Velie and husband Paul of Hortense, Debbie Howard and husband Allen, Ronnie Smith and wife Sherri Mullis, all of Brunswick, grandchildren, Jason Velie, Amanda Velie Cothren (Adam), Hannah Velie Vinluan (Mark), Amber Stephens King (Shaun),William Lee Sessoms, Logan Brooks Smith, Landon Taylor Smith, and Linzi Hayden Smith, great grandchildren, Kennedy Sue Horne, Charlee Claire King, Mercedes Marie Vinluan, Alara Renee Cothren, Hayden Kate King, and William Henry Sessoms, a sister Betty Amos (Gary) of Vinegrove, KY, brothers, Raymond Witten (Gail) of Brandenburg, KY, Moman Witten (Mary) of Louisville, KY, brothers in law, Milton Havens, and Charles Smith (Annie Faye) a niece Pamela Smith Crosby, a nephew, Charlie Smith (Angela) and a great nephew, Drake Smith.
