Joan Whitley Outler

Joan Whitley Outler, 82, of Brunswick, formerly of Camden County departed this life Wednesday, May 10, 2017 surrounded by her family at Hospice of the Golden Isles after a valiant 14 year battle with cancer. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating. Patrick Outler, Gabriel Hunt, Hugh Peeples, Grant Gressman, Mike Harris, and Austin Carr will serve as pallbearers.

Born May 9, 1935 in Cairo, Georgia to the late J.R. and Nora Mae S. Lambright, she graduated from Baxley High School. Mrs. Outler was a former resident of Camden County for the past 20 years and moved to Brunswick in October of 2016. She was a member of Blythe Island Methodist Church, where she volunteered, as well as serving at The Manna House in Brunswick. She retired as an Executive Assistant from Amelia Island Plantation Resort. Mrs. Outler enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles R. Outler, Jr.

Survivors include her three sons, Mark Outler and wife Robin of Kennesaw, GA, Matt Outler and wife Dot of Callahan, FL, and Mike Outler and wife Alisha of Brunswick, GA, fifteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday morning, May 13, 2017 from 9:30AM until 10:30 AM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The family requests memorials be made Breast Cancer Research. www.edomillernandsons.com
