

John was born October 24, 1949 in Stuttgart, Germany to the late Wilbur T. Jr and Jeanne Louise Measley.
John graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, NJ, class of 1967. He graduated from Providence College in Providence, RI with a degree in Political Science in 1971. John established a successful electrical contractor business working in much of the state and neighboring Massachusetts.
He is survived by a daughter, Meghan Colozzo of Boston, Mass., a son, Hans Measley of Coventry, RI and a granddaughter, Emelia Grace Measley. Also surviving is a beloved aunt, Ann Henault of Block Island, RI and cousins Michelle Lesperance of West Warwick, RI., Hank Lespernace of Largo, FL., and a niece, Amanda Measley, and a great nephew of Gallup, NM. Surviving locally are his brother Bill and sister-in-law Emily, two nephews, Patrick Measley and Thomas Measley and four great nieces and two great nephews.
John loved music, sailing, and traveling. After relocating in 2011 to the Golden Isles he found wonderful friends and enjoyed working at the Home Depot. He was especially fond of his new found friends in Darien.
The family will receive friends between the hours of 6-8 pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Nativity of Our Lady in Darien, Ga., at a date and time to be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Arrangements are entrusted into the care of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
