

Mr. Rewis was a native of Tattnall County, Georgia and had been a resident of Crescent since 1970.
Mr. Rewis started as a shrimper in 1951 in Key West at 14 years of age. He worked for the telephone company in Savannah from 1965 to 1966, and then moved to Jesup in 1966 to 1969 as a chain saw mechanic. He moved to McIntosh in 1970 to resume shrimping until he retired from that at the age of 68 in 2005. He began driving for Enterprise Car Rental until 2010. He also enjoyed shad fishing and supplemented his income with that.
Survivors are his wife Jean Anderson Rewis of Crescent a daughter, Lisa Rewis Gore (Tim) of Meridian, Ga., two sons, John Kevin Rewis of Darien and Henry Kent Rewis of Crescent, three sisters, Annie Laura Watkins of Cedar Bluff, Al., Rosa Lee Cope of Savannah and Geneva Jones of Cobbtown, Ga. 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 O’Clock Friday 3/23, 2012 in the Bay Harbour Church of God in Brunswick with Rev. Ricky Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Belleville Cemetery in Crescent.
Active pallbearers will be: Jack Gore, Tom Gore, Lamar Gore, Rhett Saxon, Mike Edenfield, Michael Boatright, Johnny Cook, Jimmy Dismucke and Herschel Knight.
Mr. Rewis will be taken to the Church on Thursday for visitation from 6 to 8 Pm and the family request contributions to the Bay Harbor Church of God.
