Joyce worked faithfully for 25 years at Wal-Mart and was known for her strong work ethic and dedication in everything she did. A devoted Baptist in faith, Joyce lived her life guided by love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was a hard worker who always put her family first. To those who knew her best, Joyce was the strongest person they had ever known.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. and Estell Long; Edward Wayne Glisson; her brother, James Long; her sisters, Ruth Pittman and Betty Jo Long; her grandson, Jordan Perkins; and her great-grandson, J.J. Maxwell.
Joyce leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory: her son, Keith Glisson (Rhonda) of Hortense, Georgia; her daughters, Tammy Perkins (Harold) of Brunswick, Georgia, and Amy Smith (Craig) of White Oak, Georgia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joshua Glisson, Kimberly Glisson, Austin Glisson, Emily Perkins, Cameron Perkins, Caden Smith, Kylee Smith, Amanda Lastinger, Meghan Maxwell, and Anthony Scoggins; and her great-grandchildren, Vincent Osborne, Isla Glisson, Brodie Glisson, Wade Lastinger, Elzy Lastinger, Ella Lastinger, Henley Moore, and Harlan Aldridge; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Chapel Park Cemetery.
Joyce’s strength, love, and devotion to her family will always be remembered and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
