

Kelley Dwane Williamson, 58, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 19, 2014 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Georgia. He was born on January 21, 1956 in Brunswick, Georgia to his parents, Sarah C. and J.D. Williamson, Sr.
Dwane was a 1974 graduate of Groves High School in Savannah, GA, where he played on the high school football team. He followed his father’s footsteps by establishing a career in the construction industry. As a highly-skilled crane operator, Dwane worked at various job sites throughout the Southeast and South America. Two of his most memorable jobs were working on the Sidney Lanier Bridge, which spans the Turtle River in Brunswick and laying a 450-ton center beam of Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA.
Dwane loved his two children, Carrie-Jane and Kelley, Jr. Dwane was interested in raising hunting dogs, crabbing and fishing in the marshes of Glynn County. He also, learned how to cook some of his family’s favorite recipes.
Dwane was a long-time member of The Operating Engineer’s Union, Brunswick, GA.
He is survived by his two children, a brother, James D. (Shelley) Williamson, Jr. (Commerce, GA), a sister, Dwana (Tommy) Rollins (Hortense, GA), a niece, Gina Rowell, two nephews, Chad and Edward Turner and several grand-nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Sarah C. and J.D. Williamson, Sr., grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, followed by Dwane’s funeral service on Thursday, August 21 at 3:00pm in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Following the service, Dwane will be laid to rest among family members in the Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick.
