

Kenneth D. Gale, 62, of Darien, died Monday, January 31, 2011 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at Darien United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob McDaniel officiating. Members of the McIntosh County Roads Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Born November 2, 1948 in Glynn County, Georgia to the late Dave Lester Gale Sr. and Jeannette Lela Gale, he was a graduate of Darien High School Class of 1969 and a member of Darien United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. Mr. Gale also served as past police chief of Darien. He was also a former resident of Camden County where he worked for many years as a security guard at Kings Bay Submarine Base. After moving back to Darien he served as a jailer with the McIntosh County Sheriffs Department and was currently employed by McIntosh County Roads Department. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Carol K. Gale.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly G. Krammer and husband Trent of Richmond Hill, a granddaughter, Madison Grace Krammer, two brothers, Dave Lester Gale Jr. and wife Janice of Darien, and Darwin Gale and wife Karol of Brunswick, several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday morning from 11AM until the funeral hour at Darien United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Golden Isles or Darien united Methodist Church. Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. www.edomillerandsons.com
