Landon E. “Ernie” Wilchar, 61, of Brunswick, departed this life Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Hospice of The Golden Isles. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, December 4, 2015 at Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.
Born February 20, 1954 in Brunswick, Georgia to the late Ernest and Mary Lee H. Wilchar, he was a graduate of Glynn Academy Class of 1972. Mr. Wilchar worked for J.D. Moore, and also shrimped on the “Potlikker” and “Kara Jo”. He later was a self-employed property manager. A lifelong resident of Brunswick, Mr. Wilchar was of the Methodist Faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and shrimping. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Kimberly Wilchar.
Survivors include a sister, Debbie Strickland, two nieces, Amy Courson and husband Darryl, and Leigh Anne Ammons and husband Billy, all of Waynesville, three great nephews, Chase Ammons, Dylan Jones, Cory Jones, and a great niece, Taylor Ammons. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Resident’s Council of Sears Manor Nursing Home at 3311 Lee Street Brunswick, GA 31520
