Linda Ruth Owens Self

Linda Ruth Owens Self went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 24th 2016. She died at St. Josephs Hospital in Savannah after suffering complications from a weak heart. Mrs. Self was born in Brunswick, Ga. August 23, 1943 where she lived most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Leo L. and Katie Mae Owens of Brunswick.

Mrs. Self was a graduate of Glynn Academy and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife, loving Mother and Grandmother. She was outgoing, friendly, never met a stranger, always greeting everyone with a smile. Linda worked many years for Dr. Ben Galloway and later worked for Dr. Wayne Rentz, both of which she enjoyed with her caring and bubbly personality.

Survivors include her husband of 55yrs Eugene Thomas Self, three sons Kirk E. Self, Karl T. Self, and Creig L. Self (Charlotte Self). One brother Leo L. Owens (Grace Owens); three grandchildren Catherine M. Able, Lawton H. Self, and Jessa P. Self; nephews David and Chris Owens.

Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home at 3pm on Wednesday, July 27th, 2016 with Pastor Ritchie Self Officiating. Family will be receiving friends one hour prior to service 2pm-3pm. Interment will follow at the Brunswick Memorial park cemetery. Serving active pallbearers will be J.L. Oglesby, E.D. Gornto, Steve Self, David Owens, Chris Owens, and Tom Browning.
