Louise Martin Martin Baker

Louise Martin Baker, 94, of Springfield, Georgia died Sunday, December 26, 2010 at the Effingham County Extended Care Center in Springfield, Georgia. Funeral service will be held 11AM Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Stinson and Pastor Duane Logsdon officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with, Charles Martin, Lamar Martin, Chris Martin, Tersh Blissett, Ronnie Scarboro and Will Ellis serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Scott, Joel Hedgepeth and Staff of Savannah Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm. Tuesday December 28, 2010 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.

Mrs. Baker was a native of Brunswick, GA., born August 7, 1916 to the late Charles C. and Julia Beard Martin, she was homemaker raising two children. Mrs. Baker was a graduate of Glynn Academy and a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Cornerstone Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Glynn County for over 80 years before moving to Effingham County in 2005. The love of her life were her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents Mrs. Baker is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Baker, a son James Baker , a daughter, Deborah Smith, seven brothers and a sister.

Survivors include a grandson, Brian Lee Smith, a granddaughter, Michelle Smith Blissett, a son in law, Kerry Smith and wife Margaret, two great grandchildren, Lillie Beth Smith and IV Blissett, three step- granddaughters, Shelley Sumner, Amanda Sumner and Lindsey Tebeau., two step- great grandchildren, Olivia Tebeau and Travis Tebeau, several nieces and nephews.
